LORD HAMILTON'S BOOK.
NO COMPLIMENT TO MR HALDANE.

LONDON, March 16.
In the Array debate iii the House of Commons, Mr Hamar Greenwood, Liberal member for Sunderland, referring to Lord Hamilton's book, considered that the publication of the opinions of a salaried officer under Mr Haldane was inconsistent, with the best interest's of service, and no compliment to the intelligence of Mr Haldane or his supporters. It showed that he had been subordinate to his own-.Department.: -

Haldane said he considered that the advantages of MiHamilton's publication out-weighed the disadvantages, and successfully resisted Mr Holt's amendment for a reduction of 15,000 of the men. Mv Haldane promised an extra day for general discussion on the report stage.
