INSURGENTS CAPTURE A TOWN

MEXICO CITY, March 9

A hand of insurrectionists in Lower California captured Mexicali intending to make it the capital of a Socialistic republic. Federal troops were despatched to the scene. It is now learned that the dissensions are so great amongst the insuigents that they will not defend the town. . • MaYiy Americans aided the insurgents. FOREIGN INTERESTS AFFECTED. GERMAN PRESS ACCUSATION. LONDON, March 9. The Washington correspondent of The Times says the mobilisation of United States troops on the Mexican frontier is the outcome of-long existing disquiet regarding the possibility of the death of President Diaz, an event which would be the signal for turmoil affecting foreign interests. It is hoped the presence of troops on the frontier will act as a deterrent on the revolutionaries.
