MASTERTON CHESS CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING.
The annual meeting of tfte Masterton Ghess Club was 'held in the Y.M.C.A. rooms last evening, when there was a very satisfactory attendance of members.
The annual report was read as follows: "The revived Club held its first meeting on March 10th, 1910, and commenced the year very pro- ' misingly. The following officers were elected:—Presidient, Mr W. R. Rummer, Vice-Presidents, Messrs F. H. Rummer and J. Dagg; Committee, Mesons- C. Winchester, J. Logan, and W. Hood; Match Committee, Messrs Corunell and C. Winchester,- Secretary and Treasurer, Mr T. J. Thompson; Delegate to Association, Mr S. Mackay. Mon-' day and Friday evenings were de- ( cided on if or play, but a. feeling exists that one evening per week is preferable. Though fair numbersturned up it is earnestly hoped that •members will turn up regularly and. i so get as much 'change of play as i possible. The club regret the loss of a consistent supporter in Mr J. Logan, -who has left the- district. The Club has Avon two 'telegraphic ■matches "against "Lower Valley by 6 to 1 .and o£ to 2\ points, also amatch against T'e Whara.u per tele-phone-by 7 to 1 (6 wins and 2j draws to 2 draws).
