CABLE NEWS

ABOLITION OF POSITION PROBABLE.

(Received Last Night, 9.20 o'clock.)

SYDNEY, March G. A deputation of the Australian Natives Association urged upon Mr Carmichael the claims of distinguished Australians to hold the office of State Governor. Mr Carmichae! fully sympathised with the deputation and said that there was nothing in Australia too good for Australians. There was a possibility of the spheres of the State and Federal Governments being remodelled, and probably one of the problems of considerable urgency which will rise will bo the abolition of the State Governor. It would probably receive the. support of himself and his party.
