"PRICE FAKERS."
Mr H. G-. Williams, in his letter to the "Dominion, ' makes a rather serious statement when he says there is a good deal of suspicion that amongst breeders 'there are. some who, are "price fakers," and that many of the large prices quoted in the papers as having been paid, offered, or received for studs are not genuine. Does Mr Williams .'believe that there are breeders, or auctioneers who deliberately mislead the public through the newspapers Y If he does, he will surely see 'the propriety, in his own interests and those of the general public, of giving the reasons for his belief. The suspicion he refers to is tantamount to one of fraud, and it should not be allowed to rest at mere assertion. If he can adduce evidence which will be regarded as sufficient foundation for even rthe suspicion, he will be conferring a benefit upon his fellowsettlers.
