Whilst New Zealand has, for reasons of eoonomy (?) decided 1 to instal the Grerman wireless telegraph apparatus, a cable from Berlin states 'that Brazil and several other countries are taking the (xerman apparatus in preference* to the Marconi, 'although the latter- is- cheaper." Apart from, the fact that if the Marconi .system is cheaper for Brazil, it should also be cheaper for .New Zealand, we • find other nations acting, apparently, from quite different motives from those of economy.
