TKEJNTHAM, Last Night. The New Zealand Rifle Association's annual meeting -was commenced on the Traitham Range* on Friday, in unsettled' weather. -The first match, the Carbine' Cup, was won by Rifleman R. Stewart (Weber), who scored 100 points, and takes the cup for one year, and wins £5. Corporal F. A. Wayne (Poputumoa) 99, and Lieut. Cornes (Ohinemuri) 99, each won £4. The Wairarapa prize-winners were: Rifleman D. McLeay (Opaki) £2, Rifleman W. D. McCalmont £l, Rifleman Nat Willoughby (Gladstone) £l, Rifleman W. Winslade (Opaki) £l, and Captain C. Benton (Aifredton) £l. THE WELLINGTON MATCH. 600 Yards, ten shots; possible 50. £5—L.-Opl. J. Hunt (P. and T., Wellington) 50 £4—Rifln.„C. J. Franklin (Weber) 50 £4—Rifln. G. NELSON MATCH, ten shots at. 500 yards.— Drummond (Westport), put up a, possible. (Auckland 1 ) scored 49, and Caldwell (Karon;, fc>wanson (Ruahine), Pearce (S'andon), Fisher (Stoke), and «svans (Taranaki) each scored 48. *j'orty-sevens -were numerous. The match will be resumed to-day. AUCKLAND MATCH, 500 and 600 yards, ten shots.— £s—Penny (bandon) 91; £4—Ha- (Karori) 94; £4—Loveday (Woodville) 93; £4— H.
