Sir, — %oxxt correspondent "Amateur'l is apparently a disappointed exhibitor. He the old motto, and "Try, try, try again." Who knows but that nest year he may appropriate a large number of •the prizes? Would he then be prepared to leave the amateur class and compete with the professionals?' I agree that any person who employs a. professional gardener, •either permanently, or intermittently, should not be allowed to compete as an amateur. But an amateur should not be debarred from competing because .lie, or she, as the case may be, "scoops the pool." —1 am, etc., ANOTHER AMATEUR.
