MAURICEVILLE WEST.

The dry spoil which had reached a serious stage, cam© to a close on Friday niglit. A .heavy downpour set in about 9 o'clock, and continued up to mid-day 'on Sunday. The medical man is in great request. ; The annual meeting of the Lutheran Ministry was held on Saturday last to ascertain the financial position of the local church, and consider the question of a local preacher. 1 much regret having to report the death of one. of Manriceville's oldest and most respected settlers in the person of Mr 0. Forsberg, which took place this morning.
