Lord Thomas Denman, P.C., K.C.V.0., will succeed Lord Dudley, as Governor-General of the Commonwealth. It is reported that the pd>asition was offered to Sir Thomas David Gibson-Carmichael before he accepted, the Governorship of Madras, but he declined for private reasons. ,
