The career of Miss Amy Castles is perhaps amongst the most meteoric in the musical world of today, and the warm nicho she holds in the hearts of Australasians has been many times exemplified in the enthusiastic receptions accorded to her previous visits. This farewell tour of Miss Castles promises most brilliant results. Music lovers have seen this gifted songstress achieve not only triumphs on Ithe concert platform, but in the equally artistic role' of Grand Opera. Whilst a comparatively young girl Miss -Castles has leapt into a place amongst the foremost singers of to-day, and to further crown her many triumphs reappears in London shortly, which will be signalised by her debut in Grand Opera in England. Miss Castles .commenced her New Zealand tour at "His Majesty's Theatre," 'Dunedin ,on Wednesday, February Bth, supported by a company, which ranks high in excellence by reason of tliei celebrity of, the aiWists composing same. Herr Alexander Camphausen, a famous baritone from Leipsic, made his first -appearance before New Zealand audiences, following successful concerts on the Continent and more recently in Africa. No more popular selection could have been made than Herr Louis Hattenbaeh,, famed (throughout the length and breadth of Australia as l one of the greatest cello instrumentalists that it has hesn the fortune of Australia ■. Iro hear. The pianist of the company is Mr William Conway,, an Australian with an English and Continental training remarkable for its brilliancy. Messrs J. and N. Tait announce the plans to open at Miss Rive's on Saturday, March 4th. Special accommodation has been made for emiu/try patrons.
