A SETTLER KILLED.

DARGA VILLE, hast Night Information .was received here to-day from Hokianga to the- effect that a settler named Bourke was found in the Pakana Gorge yesterday. Only meagre . particulars are to hand, but it is surmised that the deceased had been visiting - his' wife's grave, yesterday being . the f-ourt'h anniversary of her - death, and when returning home his horse shied and threw him off into a ravine about 100 feet deep. The deceased was 57 years of age, and took a deep interest in public affairs in Hokianga.
