MR W. T. MANSFIELD.
it is ploising to know that the service's rendered the. Borough of Mas- • terton by Mr W. T. Mansfield during the. comparatively slioitt period, ill which he has filled the positions of Town Clerk and Engineer, have not been allowed to pass without re-cognii-ion. When Ma- iviansheia came to Masterton, ftmngs were m a somewhat chaotic condition. He " has, 'by dint of application, skill • and energy, lifted 1 tliem from that |. undesirable state, and placed them 'on a satisfactory tooting. Very 1 few men would have faced the position so courageously' as Mr Mansfield lhas.done, and /fewer still would have overcome engineering and 6th< er difficulties so expeditiously and with such marked success. There may be tliose in "the (town who differ from Mr Mansfield on points of detail in administration. There are none who can deny that he has done yeoman service to the Borough. Maisterton will be exceedingly fortunatfce if it secures a successor possessed of the scientific and adininitrative abilities Of the departing Engineer.
