Aoropos of n discussion a.-, to whether Britain, in iho cvs-r.;.- or v,ar, would arrange for Franco to f-vard.tho Mediterranean, Admiral Freemantle, interviewed by the newspaper "Le Matin," declared' that if her present programme were realised, France would be able, in 1920, to hold her own against the Austro-Hungarian and Italian fleets combined. Admiral Cyprian Bridge, in an interview, eulogised the French officers and men. He added: "The British navy is at present equal to the German, Austro-Hungarian and Italian combined."
