Y.M.C.A. GYMNASIUM.
A very enthusiastic meeting■ of ladies was held in tlie Y.M.C.A. rooms on Monday evening, when details of gymnastic dress and committee work were gone into. The General Secretary occupied the chair, the Physical Director (Mr R. 0. Jarrott) being also .present. A very representative committee of ladies was set up, being composed of members of five of the various churches of tlie town, the following being the committee:— Mesdames Blackman and Snowball, Misses N. O'Leary, J. Scott, Alberta Scott, Eagle, Jones, Church, Joy, H. Hodge, and 1 M. Jarrett. A good working uniform .was adopted* of stockings, bloomers and shoes all in black, with . white sweater and the Association, badge, ! an inverted triangle in. red; detachable skirt optional.
The schoolgirls' class will . commence on Thursday afternoon, March 9th, at 4 p.m., fees 5s per term • the ladies the same evening at 7.30, fees 7s 6d per term, each, term of 13 weeks. The fees all round' have been cut'-down to half of last year's figure, and the classes are open, to everybody—member and non-member alike. ,
TJtie Masterton.Y'.M.C.A. is the only, Y.M.C.A. in Australasia that open® its gymnasium doors so broad, it being the only Association to admit lady members to its gymnastic classes, '_ ■'•'. ""'.'■
The gymnastic fittings have been set in order, and the place is now ready for. inspection. The public are heartily welcome to drop into the rooms to have a look round.
