PALMERSTON N.j.Last Night.) At a large meeting of the Pro l , gressive Liberal- League to-might, it was unanimously resolved to ask Milt. McNab to consent to become a candidate for the Palmerston North seat at the next general election, in vie,\y'of Mr W. T. Wood's retirement in of ill-health. A deputation later waited on Mr McNab, who'said the matter would receive his earnest considers.loll, but he could not give an immediate reply owing to a similar requisition from another constituency to which lie had not definitely given an answer. He promised, however, to give an early reply.
