VALEDICTORY.
A farewell social was tendered to Mr J." H. Berry, who is leaving Masterton for Australia, at the residence of Mr J. Williams, South Road, by a number of his intimate ohums. During the evening Mr Berry was the recipient' of a very •handsome presentation in the form >of a gold-mounted fountain pen, suit- / ably engraved. Mr J. Long, in "*y making the presentation, referred to Mr Berry's many sterling qualities, both in his official capacity as a Government employee in the Masterton Post Office, and as "a friend. Mr Berry suitably responded. An enjoyable musical programme was submitted, including songs by Messrs T. Donaldson, A. Long, R. McKenzie* and W. Williams. Mr Berry has been on the staff of the Masterton Post Office for about ieven years.
