DISQUALIFICATION OF COUNCILLORS.

Those who contemplate becoming candidates for the Mayoralty, or for the position of Councillors, will be interested to know that, under section 42 of the Municipal Corporations Act passed last session, the following are disqualified,:—"Any person concerned or participating (otherwise than as a member of an incorporated company in which there are moft than twenty members, and of which he is neither a director nor the general manager) in any contract with or work to be done or the supply ofgoods for the council, if the payment of such contract- or work, or supply exceeds five pounds on any one contract, or work, or supply,- or ten I pounds altogether, in any one year j of more /than one contract or. work I or supply."
