MELBOURNE, February 17. • The fourth test-match between the South African cricketers and Australia commenced to-day. Sherwell won the toss and sent the Australians in to bat. In attempting to stop a hard straight drive from Bardsley, Llewellyn, who was fowling, sustained a split finger on the right hand, and was compelled to retire temporarily.
