The ceremony was performed by the Very Rev. Dean McKenna in the presence of "a large gathering or friends. The "bride, who was given away,by her father, looked charming in a dress of white all-over embroidery, with the orthodox wreath and orange blossoms. She also carried a white prayer-book. The bride was attended by her two sisters, the Misses Martha and-Polly Stempa, as bridesmaids. These wore white embroidered dresses and black hats, and carried bouquets of crimson cactus dahlias, with maiden-hair ferns. They also wore gold bangles, the gift of the. bridegroom. Mr A. Stempa acted as groomsman. The mother of the bride wore a black silk dress. After the ceremony a number of guests partook of wedding breakfast at the residence of the bride's parents on the Upper Plain. The honeymoon is to be spent in Napier.
