The cornet and baritone*- solo >vas taken this morning, nine out of the twenty entrants facing the judge. These occupied'the first three places. Munits (Ashbiirton)and P. Johnston, (Wellington "Garrison) each Tscored 62; M; Taylor (Waitara)' 62, T. (Christiansen (Ashburton) 58, S. Signal (Wanganui) 52, R. Olvey (Onehunga) 50. ' At 1.15 the Bands gathered in the Square, and marched at 200 yards intervals to the Showground, each playing its own choice selection. Large crowds assembled, and followed, the bands 1 . T At the Showground'the Mayor (Mr Nash) welcomed the bandsmen heartily on behalf of the citizens. .
