MONTHLY MEETING. TJie usual committee meeting of the Masterton Borough Council was held _ last: evening;-<there being"present-^-" His -Worship the Mayor (Mr J. Mi. Crs. W., Moms, J. Prentice, J., C. Ewington, T. G. Hoar,. F. W. Temple,,\y. Pragnell and J,. Elliott. An apology for absence was received from Cr Rigg. -: / <, Barton Bros;, circus proprietors, wrote asking for a rebate in the fee paid for exhibiting in Masterton. The application was disallowed. Mr C. E. Daniell applied for permission to erect a signboard in a given permission contrary to the Boroi%h by-laws.—lt was decided, to enforce the by-law. Mr Arnold Western, clerk of the Pahiatua Borough Council, wrote asking for particulars in connection with the Masterton system of street lighting.—The matter was left in the hands of the Gas Manager, Mr J.
