FORMED BY CALEDONIAN SO- :'■ CIETY. TJie secretary reported at Saturday's meeting of the Directors of the Wairarapa Caledonian Society that' he had received applications from twenty-three pipers for enrolment in the Wairarapa Caledonian Society' s Pipe Band, and th at several other, pipers in the disti-ict had signified" tlieii; ;. intention of" : joining the' Band aftfv. it wns started. The matter was held over until after the old Highland Pipe Band had decided to wind up their affairs. At a meptiiig of the . members of the Highland Pipe Band on Saturday night, it was decided to wind up, and the members ■wilL./all .-join the Wairarapa Caledonian Society's Pipe Band. This will enable the Society to avail itself of the generous offer of Mr W. C, Buchanan, M.P., to equip the Band. This offer was made some years ago, oh condition tliat the Band he under the auspices of the Wairarapa* Caledonian Society.' '', .
