It was recently stated in'tTie Wairarapa Age that there had been a considerable increase in the number of rabbits on Native lands in the Masterton district this season, and that European . owners-' were complaining. It is understood that the officers of • the ' Agricultural Department ratend taking vigorous steps to compel Native owners to poison their lands. One reason given for the neglect of. Natives to attend to their farms is that they are frequently absent for days at a time attending "tangis." This is a question which will probably be brought under the notice of the Native.Minister.
