MASTERTON RACING CLUB. ; The programme of the Masterton Racing Club's autumn meeting, to be held on March 23rd and 24th, is now advertised. The sum of £lllO \\ih bo given in stakes for fourteen .evei-.t's,the back hurdle races having been 'eft out on .this occasion. T ,- e principal events are the Waipipi Cup, of 170 sovs, and the autumn Handicap, of 115 sovs. The remaining even's are for distances ranging from five furlongs to a mile and a quarter, and are sure to meet with a good response from owners and trainers. As bookmakers are not allowed to ply their calling on racecourses, the Club will provide ample totalisator accommodation in the way of ticket and pay-out windows. The course is in splendid order tnis season, and the Club is prepared to provide a large number of loose ■boxes for visiting owners, and accommodation for trainers and jockeys. Judging by the support accorded to racing clubs in the North Island recently, the Club is justified in confidently anticipating a highly successful gathering, and in making its arrangements accordingly.
