RECHABITE COUNCIL.

MEETING IN NAPIER. At the meeting in Napier of the New Zealand Central District Independent Order of Rechabites, at which the Masterton Tent was represented by Bros. Easthope and Threadwell, the chair was occupied by D.GvR. Bro. Wesney, of Invercargill. Bro. Wesney made reference to the passing of King Edward VII., and the accession to the throne of King George V. He referred also to the loss that the order had sustained in tho death of Bro. D. M. Main, the High Chief Ruler. He extended a hearty welcome to old and new delegates, but more especially to the representatives of new Tents. He said that one of the events of the year they had entered upon would be the' visit of the High Chief Ruler and the .Past High Chief to the Dominion. It was stated that during the past year 16,881 had joined the order, 6414 of whom were adults. There had been an increase during.the last ten years of 190,230, the total membership now being 520,000, :\a<3 the funds, £2,114,486. Reference was made to the success of the Sub-District Convention and the scheme for the consolidation of the sick fund. It was also mentioned that fourteen new Tents had been opened since May, 1909.
