MONEY FOR RAILWAYS.
Sir Joseph Ward told the people of liaetihi on Monday night that next year, on account of the buoyancy of the revenue, he was satisfied that a considerable sum would be available to help the .expenditure oh railways, and the claims of Raetihi would be fully looked into. It is about' time that Masterton got .to. work-with Sir -Joseph concerning .' the important .'connection between .Masterton"'• and Waipukurau. (He should be invited here for a banquet straight away. But what does he mean ; by next year ? That goes beyond the elections, and there is a session to be. held this year. Possibly it is the old game of the bunch of carrots.
