WORKERS' SYMPATHY.

The following address from the \Masterton Executive of" the Shearers' and Woolshed Employees' Union was, read at ilie "tangi -5 over the remains of the late Mr and Mrs Paku at Te Ore Ore on Sunday:—"We desire, on behalf, of the members of this Union, to convoy to the-friends, and relatives and the Maori race -oiir deepest sympathy and sincere * regret in the time of their \; bereavement and loss in the death of the late'Mr and Mrs Rei Pakiy. The late Mr Rei Paku was one of our prominent members, and will be sadly from our ranks, as in him we fully recognised a true and staunch Unionist, and one who was ever desirous of uplifting the conditions of the workers of this Dominion. Tlie good work done by Mr Rei Paku will always be fresh in the memory of our Union. We fully recognise the Maoris as a noble race of people, and ..it is tlie earnest desire of the pakeha portion of our membership that the chain of friendship and brotherly and sisterly devotion should be linked up, with the object of berromin one in' the' 1 best interests of our •cause. We remain, yours in deepest sympathy.— Signed by eleven members of the Executive."
