MASTERTON RACING CLUB.

MEETING OF STEWARDS. The monthly meeting of the Stewards of the Masterton Racing Club was held on ■ Saturday, there being present,— Messrs C. F. Vallance (chairman), J. Macara, A. G. Piimer, C. A. Pownall, A. Welch, A. Reside, G. H. Yates, J. Cress, D. McLachlan; W. Cooper, J. lorns, R. Buiek, F. E. Dorset, and. W. .Piatt. ;.; ';'// .';■;'._ ' The. secretary reported that the iprogramme .for the.autumn meeting had ■ been "advertised in the New, 'Zealand Referee. A letter was received from Mr C. A. Tabuteau, secretary of the-Holi-days Committee, stating that a. halfholiday ' would be observed on the second day of the races, March 23rd, from noon. ' , ' Messrs O. C. Cooper, D. Donald, and D. Caselberg tendered their -resignations as stewards of the Club. . ,The resignations . were accepted, and it was resolved that the three gentlemen be thanked for their past services to the Club. (Messrs J. B. Moodie, W. lorns, and C. J. Bennett were elected to fill the vacancies caused by the resignations. "„..-;'•-•■ ' R. S. Henry and G. A. Coogan applied to have their names removed form the disqualification list. It was resolved that owing to the lapse of time since the' disqualification, and taking into consideration the various certificates of character ot applicants, and having regard to the fact that the disqualification of others concerned in the affair had been removed, the Cluo recommend the removal of the applicants' names from the disqualification list. Messrs Piimer, Pownall, and Moodie were appointed a Finance Committee. Sundry accounts were passed for payment.
