THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES. The Foresters' Hall was packed last evening, when Messrs 'lhomp'son and Pay lie submitted one of the best'programmes of moving pictures shown in Masterton. A romance of the American Civil War was told in a picture entitled "On the Road to Richmond." It was an excellent drama, and many stirring scenes were depicted amidst the din of the battlefield. "Unexpected Help" was a delightful drama dealing with life in the Wild West and showing liow a stolen sum of money was recovered through the unexpected help of two clergymen. The scenies were of a high order, being beautifully photographed and coloured. A comedy by the Yitagraph 'Company entitled '?The Portrait" was a great favourite with the audience, and justly so, as the acting was excellent all through, and particularly in that scene in which the "critics" pass their opinion on the "portrait." "First Love is Best" was an exciting drama of exceptional merit. The comics covered a wide range of subjects, and met with hearty approval. This ibill of fare will be shown for the last time this evening. As Messrs Thompson and Payne will assist at the Park Fete on Thursday evening, with a programme of moving pic- , turos, there will be no entertainment at the Foresters' Hall. The change of programme will take place o« Friday night, and among the pictures to be shown are three capital dramas, viz., "Trailed l to the Hills," "The Chink of Golden Gulch," and "The Attorney's Triumph." Appropriate music will be supplied by the T.-P. Orchestra'.
