The total number of truancies reported was 3310. In 100 cases legal■'■ proceedings- were instituted, and in 80 of these convictions were recorded. The, percentage of attendances for the December quarter was 89.9, and for the whole year 88.8. . There is still considcrr able trouble with shopkeepers and 7 tradespeople -who ; employ boys durv ing schoQl-times,, the worst; offenders "being milkmen.
