STEAMER RUAHINE GUT INTO.

LONDON, January 28

The White Star steamer Beacon Grange collided with the New Zealand Shipping Company's twin-screw steamer Ruahine (12,000 tons) off Las Palmas, the westernmost Island of the Canary Group. A hole five feet long was cut into the Ruahine above the water-line. The Ruahine will be detained for a week at Las Palmas for repairs.

[The Ruahine is on her return to New Zealand. .She left New Zealand on November Ifth. She has a large cargo and many passengers for the Dominion.]
