THAT PICNIC.
(To the Editor.) Sir, — "Timothy's" letter is like the sorry "Tickle me Timothy." It makes one laugh when he: talks about it' not' being necessary for them all to be picnicking on the one rday. Ifwoukl not be much of a picnic for a guard and a driver, assuming they were single, to go to Solway or. some oilier place for a day's outing, unless they had a girl of the "wowser" type to accompany them. 1 should like "Timothy" to tell me when lam able-to go for a picnic otlier than on Sunday. There are 313 working days in a year for railway men.. Out of these I myself get'ten for annual leave. The remainder I devote to the Railway Department until'. 9 p.m. every day —-nb evening amusement, let alone a picnic.—- I an:, etc., 23 YEARS RAILWAY WORKER.
