MOTOR-CYCLE RELIABILITY TRIAL.

MELBOURNE TO SYDNEY. BRADBURY LEADS. 1 The official result of the motor-cy-cle reliability trial between Melbourne and Sydney lias been announced, and resulted in the Bradbury machine (only one of which took part in the trial) coming out on top of nineteen competitors. Mr P. J. Murphy, an amateur rider, riding a 3J li.p. Bradbury, got right through the trial, which was conducted between Sydney and Melbourne, a distance of 600 . miles, without the loss of ,a single point. Mr Murphy did not even have to / open his tool bag i_roughout the long ride. The Bradbury was in the same condition when it finished as when it i started on the journey. Many of the other competitors liad to retire through wheels and rims buckling under the severe strain caused , by the rough roads. Mr Murphy, the successful competitor in the reliability contest, writes:— "The roads were fairly good from Melbourne to Albury, but the heat was terrific. From Albury to Germanton the roads were in a very bad state, which accounted for nearly all the machines being greatly knocked about. The road for the next 80 miles was in a . disgraceful state. This, coupled with . the excessive heat, made it a very trying ride for man and machine. Having to do' this ■ stretch at -21 miles an hour added-'to 1 ' thh discomfort,- aiid those v .who reached Gundagai were completely exhausted. . . . The ruiTfrom Yass to Sydney I averaged at 36 miles an hour. My machine, a 3J Bradbury, (which was the only one of the-make in the trial), came through the trying ordeal absolutely without a defect of any kind, which, P think, .speaks volumes for the perfection of the Bradbury motor-cycle." Mr D. G. Brown is the sole agent for this most excellent motor cycle, and he will be pleased for those interested to visit his shop .and inspect the "Bradbul'y."
