AMUSEMENTS

THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES. The final presentation of the cur- j rent programme at the Foresters' Hall last evening was greeted with | a good audience which thoroughly 1 enjoyed the excellent bill-of-fare pro- . vided. To-night a particularly line range of pictures will be shown, the popular dramatic studies being in strong force. Those who witnessed that splendid film, "Lieutenant Rose and the Stolen, Submarine," will be pleased to hear that another of this very acceptable type of dramas is included in the present series, viz., "Lieutenant Hose and the Chinese Pirates." It is an exciting subject, well acted,, and the photography is excellent. Another drama that is sure to please is entitled "The Cowboy's Devotion." The many intensely interesting situations in the picture include on© depicting a cowboy's light against Indians in order to save a lady whose male escort had deserted her when the Indians had attacked tliem. Those of a sporting turn of mind will find "The Legend # of a Horse" to tneir taste, while lovers of dramatic studies of the Middle Ages should appreciate "The Room of the Secret." The comics must be classed among the best ever shown by the firm. Patrons will find the programme excellent in all respects, and one which will well repay a visit to the cosy little picture I theatre in' Queen Street.
