EKETAHUNA FARMERS' UNION.

ANNUAL 'SHOW. (By Our Special Reporter.) The Eketalnina branch of the New Zealand Farmers' union held their sixteenth annual .show yesterday, in perfect weather. A large number of visitors from the surrounding districts, and also from Masterton, were present. The Union decided this year to hold their horticultural show and field day on separate dates, the date for the horticultural show being early in March. The Union are to be congratulated on the success that attended yesterday's reunion, the secretary, ..a' R. J. McLean, deserving special praise for the way in which he carried out his arduous duties. The ground was in perfect order for jumping, and in the Hunters' Competition the jumping was of a high order, though not so good. in the high jump f competition. The Pahiatua Brass Band were in attendance, and played some choice selections during the day. The judges stated that the competing horses were a fine, useful lot, '■ being far ahead of those present at the show in previous years. A number of side-shows contributed to the pleasure of the outing.
