WELLINGTON WOOL AND SKIN SALES. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report as follows regarding Friday's sale: —Owing to the big wool sale held 011 January 3rd taking up brokers' storage space and time, no skin sale has been held since December 16th, and the next skin and hide sale will be held on February 17th, as the February wool sale falls on the 7th proximo., our ordinary skin sale date. Buyers were well represented and bidding, active at our sale on Friday, but at a lower range of prices, both for wool and skins, than at the previous sale. Hides and tallow sold well at late rates. We quote: Wool (in bags): Crossbred fleece, 6Jd to 73d per lb; pieces, 3.id to od 5 locks and pieces, 3d to 3£d; bellies, 4d to 5-£ d; dead, od to 6£d. Sheepskins: Crossbred, medium, 6d to 63d, coarse, s*d to 53d, dead, 4|d to 51; broken and faulty skins, Id to 3jd; pelts,dry, 3d to 3f; pelts, damaged, id to lid; lambskins, 2|d to 6d. Hide.: Ox. heavy, none offered; ox, medium, 6id to 6fd; cow ! and light ox, 4fd to 6£d; faulty and dry hides, 43d to s|d; calf, sound, 7|d to 8d; calf, damaged, 2d to 6d; yearlings, 6Jd; bull hides, 5d to ssd; cow tails, Is per dozen. Tallow : In casks, 28s 6d per cwt; in odd packages, 245-6 dto 25s 6d per cwt. Horsehair : Is 7d per lb. j Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., report ; We held our fortnightly sale on Friday, when we offered a small, quantity of wool, and a large catalogue containing 4,400 sheepskins, 3,300 hides and calfskins and a quantity of tallow and horsehair. Wool: Only fadges and bags were offered, which sold at current rates. Skins: Bidding was slow, and last sales prices were barely main- ' tained. We quote: Halfbreds, 7£d to 73d; fine crossbreds, 7Jd to 7|d; medium erossbreds, 6d to 7Jd; coarse crossbreds, 6d to 7d; dead skins, s£d, to 6|d; dead hoggets, 5d to s£d; <} to i-wools, 4Jd to o|d; dry pelts, "2£d to 1 33d; green skins, 6s to 7s; pelts, green, 2s to 2s Sd; spring lambs, 2s to 2s 9d; lambs polts, lOd to lid. Tallow : Steady. Parcels in shipping order, £2B ss; tins, £24 to £25 15s; rough fat, £ls to £l9. Horsehair: Is to Is 6d per lb. Horns: 5s to 16s 3d per hundreds , Cowtails: Is , 6d, per dozon. Our next sale will be held on Friday, 17th February, 1911. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their sale held on Friday as follows:—We offered a heavy catalogue of all sorts to a large attendance of buyers. Competition was fairly brisk for everything offering, and prices were well up to lpte rates. Wool: Rough crossbred, 6|d to 7£d; dead wool, 7d to 7&d; locks and pieces, 3£d to 4£d; bellies, 43d to sd. Skins: Medium crossbred, 63d to 7£d; lambs, 6|d; dead, s£d to s|d; shorts and inferior, 2d to 3sd; pelts, Is 10 to, 2s, to 2s 4d; lambs, 2s 2d .to 2s 4d; inferior pelts and seedy, Is Id to Is 7d.
