WHOLE BLOCK DESTROYED. DAMAGE ESTIMATED AT , £40,000. Received This Morning, 12.20 o'clock. SYDNEY, January 20. A lire broke out at the rear of Stokes and Priddices, tailors, in the main street, demolishing the whole of the block except a corner store. Most of the buildings were new, including the Commercial Hotel, one of the best on the north coast. Altogether twelve buildings wore totally destroyed.
