RIFLE SHOOTING
MAURICEVILLE RIFLE CLUB. The first series of competitions was fired on Saturday last. The day being a very patchy one, was not conducive to high scoring. At the 200 yards President Kummer was top scorer with 34. Rifleman Larsen held a similar position at 500 yards with 34.. At 600 yards, 34 was again top score, this time by Rifleman Blewett. The following are the scores, ranges 200, 500 and 600 yards (handicaps included): — Captain Wilton 93 Rifleman C. Blewett 93 Rifleman A. Larsen 93 Rifleman R, Dagg 93 Rifleman D. H. Rutherfurd 93 Rifleman A. E. Clark 93 Rifleman F. W. H. Kummer 91 Rifleman A. M. Rose 91 Rifleman G. Rutherfurd 90 Rifleman E.H. Dagg 86 Rifleman R. A. Wilton 'B6 Rifleman B. F. Young SI Rifleman W. Taplin .81 Rifleman W. Payne 66 The next trophy competition will be fired on Saturday, January 28th. The following team has been selected to represent the Mauriceville Rifle Club in the .first triangular teams cup match at Mauriceville on Saturday next:— Captain Wilton, F. Kummer, C. Blewett, A. Larsen, G. Rutherford, R. A. Wilton, D. H. Rutherford, and A. M. Rose; emergency, E. H. Dagg.
