THE MUNICIPAL TANGLE.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —In an article dealing with the resignation of Cr Pauling, you make it pretty clear that, anyone holding office as a Director of a Company, and being a member of'a Municipal Council, is liable to a heavy penalty if his firm trades with the Council or receives money for the supply of goods or for work done. Can you inform me whether there is a law which would apply to a Cabinet Minister who is a Director of a Newspaper. Company in receipt of Government' advertising?— I etc., iff HARD TIMES. (Oh, no! They do.things ;du7ereutly in New Zealand. The "King" can do no wrong.—Ed. W.A.)
