WELLINGTON," Last Night

In order to improve trout fishing on Lake Rotorua, the Government to-day decided to inaxigurate a raid on shags, which are bolieved to be the cause of the destruction of fish. A reward of 2s 6d per head will be paid for shags in the thermal springs district. It has also been decided to appoint a fish expert to take charge of the thermal springs 'fisheries. Applications are to be in r vited for a .specialist in Canada and New Zealand. Kaura hatchex-ies are to be established at Rotorua and Taupo, to breed food supplies for : trout.
