COMMANDER PEARY.
"WENT THROUGH HELL." Received This Morning, 1.30 o'clock. NEW YORK, January 11. Commander Peary, replying to a question by the Congressional Committee, as to why he did not take white men oh his Polar dash, declared that negro Eskimos were more than equal to the white ih enduring hardships. He went through Hell to reach, the Pole, and wanted the sole glory for himself.
