On Thursday last a girl was arrested at Pahnerston North on a charge of theft of a bicycle.
A coach load of Masterton pedestrians and others is proceeding to the Langdale sports to-day. It is expected that several racing clubs in the Waikato will amalgamate with the bringing into force of the recently passed Gaming Act.
Messrs Braclstoek and A. E. Clarke will replace Messrs Dunn and Hunter in the Civil Service cricket team in their match with the TV.F.C.A. team on the Park Oval to-dav.

Tradesmen, especially those-engaged-in building operations, are' becoming very scarce in Feilding. A number of carpenters and bricklayers' have' left for the Auckland district, where work is said to be plentiful, whilst the Taihape and Main Trunk districts arc offering attractive inducements for men in the building trade.

The marine fungus which considerably hampered the local trawling operations in Poverty Bay a few weeks back disappeared for a time, and the trawlers made several good catches. The southerly weather last week, however, brought the fungus back again, and trawling is now practically at a standstill.
