BOY IMMIGRANTS.
A remarkable paragraph from the London Daily Mail is published in another portion of this issue. It deals with a scheme which has been approved by the Emigration Committee of London for sending lads to New Zealand. Under this scheme, the lads are to be "apprenticed with selected employers," and at the end of five years, "with the usual Government advance of £4OO, tliey would be able to acquire their own land." It is fair to ask if this scheme has been approved by the Government. If it has, why has Parliament and the country not been acquainted of the fact? If it lias not, what steps, if any, have been taken to correct the mis-state-ment? It be little short of criminal to allow such a statement to remain in circulation if it. be with--out foundation in fact.
