MONTHLY MEETING

The monthly nutting of the Masiertca Borough Council was held last. QverAii'4. their beinjf, present: His Worship the Mayor (.Mr J. M. Coradine), and Ci>. T. Hoar, J. Elliott. W. "Morris, 0. Prentice, and F. W. Temple. I A letter was recoiled from Mr O. IC. Cooper, secretary of the Sotway syndjeatje, stating that* a 1 section had been reserved for hj, roadway to the main entrance of the Showgrounds, and asking that the Council take over the road. It was decided that a're~„ portion the mat'ter be prepared > by; the Engineer. Mr P. C. Morton wrote asking permission to erect a lean-to shed against - the existing boat-shed at the. public park. The applicant stated that he had obtained the permission of the owner of the shod. On the motion of the Mayor it was decided that permission be granted, subject to the ' construction being a suitable one. j Cr Temple asked that facilities bo ' j given at a future meeting to dipcuss the question of borrowing money to wipe out tho overdraft. The !M«yor said that there would bo no objection I to such discussion.
