AUSTRALIAN VISITORS.
, IXVERCARGILL, Last Night. For the purpose of spending a holiday in New Zealand, the Hon. W. M. Hughes (Attorney-General in the Federal Government of Australia), and the Hon. E. L. Batclielor (Minister. for External Affairs), arrived at the Bluff to-day by the s.s. Moeraki, from Melbourne. They were accompanied by Messrs Walter A. Gale and Frank C. Clapin (two Parliamentary officers). Messrs Hughes and Batclielor are members of the recently-formed Labour Cabinet of Australia. The visitors' were met at the Bluff by Mr T. W. Brebner, representing the Railway Department, and Mr J. McLauchlin (of «.ae Tourist Office Department), who officially offered them a welcome to New Zealand. To-day they go on to Lumsden, and thence to Manapouri and Te Anau. From Te Anau they propose to go overland to Queenstown, and their later itinerary is to arrive in Wellington on February Ist, to reach --otorua on Friday 3rd, and to sail from Auckland for Sydney on February 6th.
