TRAPPING OF RABBITS.

The trapping of rabbits has become quite an industry in some parts of the Masterton district,- as it has in the lower portions of the South Island. Whilst it may 1 afford'temporary employment to a few men, it has proved a most unsatisfactory method of dealing with the rabbit pest. During the last few years there has been quite a recrudescence in the, rabbit nuisance in parts of the Wairarapa, and it behoves the officers of the Stock Department, and of individual to see'to it that effective measures are taken to, keep the destructive/rodent in check. . Experience has demonstrated that trapping is not by any means an "effective measure." . ■
