INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION.
•An industrial exhibition is to be 'held in Wellington from May 24th till July 28th!.'-, This is to take the, jplace of the hybrid "industries week" which has worried city tradesmen during "the last few-years. The primary object of the Industrial exhibition is to advertise the resources of the city and appeal to the patriotism of the people. At the very moment that the exhibition ~ is in progress we may expect to hear of trades unionists- clamouring for higher wages, so that local manufactures may be rendered more dear than at present, the while • the trades unionist's wife is getting her 1 Maori kit full of groceries, vege- \ tables and fruit at_ the" nearest Chinaman's!
