DISTRICT NEWS.
(From Our Own Correspondents.) HUKANUI. jlukanui and Nireaha played a cricket match on Boxing Day, which resulted in a win for Hnkanni. A return match is to be played at Nireaha 0:1 January 2nd. Messrs Robert Hall and Sons havo secured the carting of timber for the trustees of Cox and Murrell. Timber is now being despatched daily, over *40,000 feet being cut ready for despatch by rail. Mr Griffin, our local storekeeper, who underwent an operation in New Plymouth Hospial, is sr eking good progress for recovery.
