TROUBLE IN FRANCE
PREPARING FOR ANOTHER STRIKE RAILWAYMEN COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. (Received Last Night, 9.45 o'clock.) PARIS, January 1. in consequence of tlio commutation of the sentence of Durand, who was sentenced to death in connection with the murder of a "blackleg," the Trades. Union Association of Seine has cancelled to-day's projected demonstration outside the Elysee, and summoned (the labour organizations to prepare for a general strike, with a view-to obtaining a'-rfevision of the trial.' Fourteen railwaymen have been committed for trial in connection with the recent strike. , ' The manager, and three of,, the editorial staff of the Socialist newspaper "Guerre Sociale," have been indicted for inciting eoldiers to ' insubordination. ■
